10 YEARS OF DECISION PROCESS.
We released Decision Process 10 years ago today. About half the songs came from demos, and the other half were written together as a band. Many singers tried out initially, but it was hard to make the arrangements sound better with vocals than they already were. The name Mothra was written on the fridge of Hugh’s flat at the time, taken from the Godflesh song, and agreed upon quickly at the first rehearsal at Reuben’s industrial work space. We pressed the album on double gatefold vinyl, CD, and released a 7″ for Splinters. Some obvious influences, and hopefully some of our own identity as well. A release show was played at the Kings Arms in Auckland opening for High on Fire, Wellington at Valhalla. and Totara St in Mt Maunganui.

Hugh meets Eddie Vedder.
One sunny afternoon in early November 2024 over on the waterfront of Auckland I had the pleasure of meeting Eddie Vedder. As a young 12/13 year old I don’t think there is another musician who had more of an influence on what I wanted to do with my life. Read about it here. One of the greatest of all time, thanks for the selfies and pick Eddie and wishing you a happy 60th birthday. By the way we’ll be releasing new music soon.

Decision Process 8 years anniversary plus shows coming up with Hötchiwitch.
We released Decision Process 8 years ago today. Time flies. The next album and e.p are ready to be mastered, thanks for waiting so long. We open for Peter Mengede’s Hötchiwitch in April. Mengede needs no introduction, he founded Helmet, played on Meantime and Strap it On, and then formed Handsome with Tom Capone from Quicksand. We grew up listening to the Handsome album on repeat as well as Helmet. Hugh will be playing second guitar for Hotchiwitch as well as opening with Mothra. Make sure you grab a ticket here

Quicksand support
The good news is we’ll be opening for Quicksand on December 16 at Auckland’s Mothership. One of our favourite bands of all time and biggest influences. If you don’t know this band, shame on you. This is their first appearance in NZ. Get a ticket here Thanks to Valhalla Touring and Waxstar Touring for making it happen.
The bad news is, due to an injury we have had to pull out of the show in Whangarei this weekend with Shepherd’s Reign. We were looking forward to playing this and hope to get the opportunity again. Gig with Shepherd’s Reign in Whangarei September 23rd
