A good friend of ours is preparing to shoot a video for us late March in Belgium. He has a script already written, it’s an awesome concept so we won’t give anything away until it’s ready. The first run of Mothra tees got cleaned up pretty quick, but not to worry, there’ll be another run available shortly. This time we’ll have a variety of colours including charcoal, silver, powder blue, and dark chocolate. We’ll also have a few quality hoodies up for grabs and some girls tees as well. Stay tuned!

Well, our so called promising vocalist has abruptly thrown in the towel after only two practices. Despite writing strong vocals to one song, he decided he couldn’t write to our music due to the odd time and experimental elements, even suggested we simplify things and make it more vocal friendly. Fair enough I guess but doing that would defeat the purpose of what we are about, so he obviously missed the point. Mothra thrives on experimentation and progressive songwritng. Pushing new ideas and creating challenging yet natural music for us and whoever wants to listen is what we are about. A shame because we felt he had the dynamics as a singer we were looking for. Next please.

We are playing the Galatos Basement Saturday Feb 5th with Osmium and Made in China (from the deep South of NZ), aswell as the awesome Arc of Ascent, who are opening for the Melvins, High on Fire, and Kylesa @ Whammy Bar very soon.
Only $10 on the door. We now have a vocalist working with us and he might even knock out a debut song, maybe. We will be on first at 9.30 pm, with merch! See you there.

It took a while but our first ever run of tshirts are now in stock. This is the Mothra ‘bug tee’. They are premium quality 100% cotton tshirts, professionally screen printed front and back. These tees are very limited and come with a high quality A5 vinyl sticker. They are $35 NZ each.
Sizes M, L, and XL are available in AAA skate style tees, or slightly finer cotton and slightly slimmer cut staple tees.

It was good to slam out the set again the other night and get 2011 underway. A very limited first run of T shirts will be available very soon. We also have a very promising vocalist coming to practice this week, the guy has some serious chops, so hopefully it works out. We’ve trialed alot of singers over the last 2 years, this guy could be our man. Click tracks and E.P preparation is coming along slowly but surely, but with the vocal potential now on the cards things might take on a whole new form.
