Mothra is an instrumental post metal band from Auckland NZ formed in 2008, made up of Hugh Allan (guitars, samples) James Armstrong (drums) and Reuben Saffer (bass).
Mothra blend elements of post metal, sludge, math metal, and psychedelic/progressive rock into their sound, often finding their own sonic territory, but never shy in nodding to the obvious bands that helped pave the way.
Mothra have opened for Helmet, Russian Circles, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Earth, Devin Townsend Project, Jakob, This Will Destroy You and sleepmakeswaves. They were selected out of 50 entries to open for the NZ 2010 Big Day Out by Real Groove Magazine.
Mothra’s long awaited debut album is set for release this year.

Hi, I may well be the guy you’re looking for. I have recently moved to Auckland from Palmerston North with the intention of hitting the music scene. I am a Frontman with a confident command of the stage. I am reliable, professional and capable of complementing your sound. My influences include: Jeff Buckley, Tool, the Mars Volta, Muse, Dream Theatre, Isis, Deftones, Alice in Chains…etc,etc.

Deicison process is some hard hitting shit, underappreciated really. Good gems like this band are always undervalued while tasteless horeshit goes mainstream
