Thanks to all who attended last night at the Galatos Basement. It was a great turnout in the end. We will no doubt have some more gigs lined up in the near future!
Our first run of tees are getting scarce, so get in touch if you want one. Mothra

We are playing the Galatos Basement Saturday Feb 5th with Osmium and Made in China (from the deep South of NZ), aswell as the awesome Arc of Ascent, who are opening for the Melvins, High on Fire, and Kylesa @ Whammy Bar very soon.
Only $10 on the door. We now have a vocalist working with us and he might even knock out a debut song, maybe. We will be on first at 9.30 pm, with merch! See you there.
It took a while but our first ever run of tshirts are now in stock. This is the Mothra ‘bug tee’. They are premium quality 100% cotton tshirts, professionally screen printed front and back. These tees are very limited and come with a high quality A5 vinyl sticker. They are $35 NZ each.

Sizes M, L, and XL are available in AAA skate style tees, or slightly finer cotton and slightly slimmer cut staple tees.
If you want to buy one and support Mothra please send payment of $35 NZ via paypal to mothrasound@gmail.com and we will dispatch the next day. Add $5 for postage within NZ, or $13.50 worldwide. Or come grab one from us at our shows.
Cheers, Mothra.

It was good to slam out the set again the other night and get 2011 underway. A very limited first run of T shirts will be available very soon. We also have a very promising vocalist coming to practice this week, the guy has some serious chops, so hopefully it works out. We’ve trialed alot of singers over the last 2 years, this guy could be our man. Click tracks and E.P preparation is coming along slowly but surely, but with the vocal potential now on the cards things might take on a whole new form.
More shows will be announced shortly.
Peace.

It’s been a productive year for Mothra in 2010. We have played a whole heap of shows around Auckland, refined our music to a whole new level, and are thoroughly looking foward to
our upcoming E.P release. We have trialed a number of vocalists but no one has quite fit what we are looking for in terms of range and dynamics etc, but that’s ok. We enjoy playing our songs as they are and alot of people have said they don’t want to hear vocals over them. It is by no means easy music to write to, but finding the right vocalist for atleast some of the material is always on the cards. The E.P will be instrumental, but who knows maybe we will have some vocals further down the track. Go to the live footage page to check some tracks out if you haven’t already. Tee shirts and a new batch of stickers will be ready before christmas. Here is a new track from Hugh’s sideproject Scapeghost that may cross over into the Mothra live performance at some stage.
