Mothra show coming up.
We’ll be playing a show in a couple of weeks with none other than Lord of Tigers, the reformed Big Punch, and Bridge. At Auckland’s best sounding venue the Kings Arms Tavern, you’d be silly not to attend. https://www.facebook.com/events/665770433481291/

Mothra band : Album update.
Our debut album is finally mixed, artwork is complete, just the mastering stage remains. A stupendous amount of work from Hugh Allan has been put into this to finally get it done. The 70 minute album will be released on vinyl, CD, and of course digitally. We will also be releasing a single/video from the album on a limited run of 7″s. Stay tuned.

Helmet support, album update.
We are pleased to announce we will be opening for the legendary ‘Helmet’ next Saturday December 21st at Auckland’s Galatos. This band is a major influence for us, we grew up listening to albums like Meantime and Betty and it is a real privilege to be sharing the stage with them next weekend. Get your tickets here. In other news the mixing stage of our debut album is well under way, we will be aiming for a release early next year if all goes to plan. Cheers, Mothra.

RIP Chi Cheng.
We are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Chi Cheng, original bassist and founding member of the Deftones. He has no doubt helped to influence countless bands like ourselves since the Deftones began. Farewell Chi, our thoughts go out to your family and friends. Much respect. Mothra.

Mothra band update.
Cool show at the Thirsty Dog the other night, thanks to everyone who came out to see us and of course Brigada and Roache for playing with us. Killer bands. The video we’ve been going on about would’ve been out by now but a minor hiccup of hard drive theft means it will take a little longer. We’ll be shooting some footage for video number 2 today, and we have another show lined up next month at Whammy Bar. More mixing for the album from our friend Aaron Harris will also commence in May!

Mothra debut video/single nearly complete. Shows coming up.
Our debut video and single are almost complete, and our full length debut is well under way. A massive thanks to our friend Aaron Harris in LA for mixing the track and doing such an amazing job. It sounds huge. This band would certainly not have the same direction or perhaps even exist without the music Aaron has created with the legendary ISIS, and we are honoured to be working with him.
An enormous hand of gratitude also goes out to our long time friend and associate Shaun Leyden for his time and effort on the video. We couldn’t be happier with what Shaun has done, to say this guy has talent with visual art and film is a massive understatement. Shaun is a kiwi who currently resides in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. His film company goes under the name of Mintamatics. The video and track will be posted here as soon as they are ready.
In the meantime we have a show coming up in 3 weeks at the Kings Arms Tavern here in Auckland, with our friends Rule of Thieves, one of our favourite NZ bands. Also on the bill are the killer acts Big Punch and UU. Here is the event link http://www.facebook.com/events/144811718968339/ and a rather flattering poster shot next to SOAD/DEP.
