Mothra vinyl out now | Album reviews.

It’s been a busy time for us here in camp Mothra, we’ve had a great response to the release of Decision Process. Out now on double coloured vinyl, limted to 250 on clear aqua and black hole coloured wax with free digi download. Well over half are already gone. You can grab a copy right here at our bandcamp, or pick one up from your favourite NZ music shop very soon. Also available on CD and digital download.

Mothra debut album’Decision Process’ out today.

Our debut album ‘Decision Process’ is out today. You can pick it up over here at our bandcamp and itunes. Years have gone into the making of this record and we kick off a string of shows tonight for its release at the Kings Arms with Heavy Metal Ninjas and Arcane Construct. Mono debrief, Mothra Christmas bundle, album update.

It was a great night opening for Mono at the Kings Arms a few weeks back, amazing band and we were honoured to share the stage with them. Here’s a few pics from the show. We have another great support to announce very soon.

Splinters video released, 7″ release show and MONO support coming up.

Here it is, the video for ‘Splinters’ off our forthcoming album. This was made once again by our good friend Shaun Leyden from Mintamatics over in the Netherlands. The limited edition 7″ single is also available for purchase right here and comes with a free bonus vocal version of another track, make sure you come to the release show next Friday at the Kings Arms. We are of course also opening for the mighty MONO on December the 10th at their Auckland show, tickets here.

Mothraband vinyl fundraising campaign.

Here is our fundraising campaign to get our album pressed on vinyl. This is effectively a ‘pre-order’ for the album on vinyl, rather than a general fundraiser with a whole lot of funding options.

Up until now we have funded everything ourselves, including the recording, mixing, production, and mastering of the album. The pressing costs to produce a minimum run of 250 double 12″ LPs, plus shipping costs from the US and duty on top of that isn’t cheap, but with enough pre-orders we can make it happen. Our goal is to get 120 pre-orders, you can also make a small donation to help the cause.

This will be a double 12″ LP, on coloured wax with 8 page colour booklet and gatefold. The cost of each unit is $50 NZ plus shipping, please note the prices are converted to US dollars. The first 20 will be signed and the first 50 will receive a private link to another song off the album while the campaign is underway. New Mothra merch run. Dillinger debrief, vinyl for the album.

We are thinking of launching a kickstarter campaign to try and make vinyl happen for our upcoming album, but more on that soon. Here’s the soundcloud link to a song off the album, Escapism, incase you missed it.

Mothraband : Support for Jakob shows/ album mastering.

We will be opening for Jakob as they embark on an NZ tour for their new album Sines. It has been 8 years since the release of their critically acclaimed masterpiece Solace, and the long awaited follow up is nothing short of amazing. You can stream it live here, and purchase the album here. We will be supporting them in Auckland on November the 14th at Galatos, and the 15th at Leigh Sawmill. We are also gearing up to master our debut album…it’s coming.

Mothraband album update, HMN show.

The album is nearing completion, distribution is in place. First offering will be a single/video which will be available digitally and on a very limited 7″ run. The album will be available on double LP, CD, and digitally, dates coming soon. We are playing this Saturday Sep 27th with the Heavy Metal Ninjas before they head off to the Euroblast Fest in Germany.
